The aim of the study was convey an UX Audit to find improvements on the website timecamp.com that should benefit both the business and the user perspective.

Established goals

I started from defining goals that should be accomplished by website both for business and users.

For business:

  • Find improvements on Timecamp webiste, which should positively impact on conversion.
  • Simplify the path of user registartion.

For users:

  • Find improvements on Timecamp webiste, that should increase positive user experience, either while interacting with website.Provide ease and accessibility of information.

Main problems found on Timecamp homepage

  • Introduction of too much text, resulting in information overload. No brief description of the capabilities offered by the tool.Starting from hero section and including sections about functionalities.
  • Use of treatments that distracts users attention from main content and action of website.
  • Using visualisations that don’t give the user image of the tool.
  • Lack of visual weight in a section with a CTA action that is not visible against the page.

  • Include clear information about the functionalities and capabilites of the tool in headline and body text,  to show that it's a solution a user needs and comunicate it's value.
  • Let the user visualise the thing you offer, to achieve immediate understanding what this website is about and what it offer.
  • Posting information about free trial and their lenght. This encourages user to explore further.
  • Application of an option to register in by other accounts. In result user have much more easier and quicker registration, which shorten the path to conversion.
  • Logicaly grouped actions.

  • Use of bullet points and icons for easier consumption of the content.
  • Clear visibility of all functionalities, without text overload, thanks to dividing description into tabs and placeing its content in cards.
  • Introducing links to subpages with vider description of particular functionality.

  • New section presentation for better visibility.
  • Offering in one place two complementary actions.
  • Low entry threshold by logging in with other accounts.
  • Using action names as sign up free, start 14 free trial and giving information about not recquiring credit card details is showing that there is no fee at the begining.
  • Recap of main tool functionalities and showing potential benefits eg. saving extra hour every day.
